Hazardous waste, medical waste, and universal waste are illegal to dispose of in your trash and recycling containers. Batteries, certain pesticides, thermostats and other mercury containing equipment, fluorescent lights, and metal halide lamps are considered universal waste.

MEDICAL WASTE

Medical waste and pharmaceuticals are illegal to dispose of in your trash and recycling containers.

Medical waste includes human pathological waste, human blood, and blood products, needles, syringes, culture and stock microbiological materials and other biohazard wastes.
